Tracy Arsenault is the heart, mind and hands behind Fiddlestitch Cottage. She has been crafting, drawing and writing since an early age, and has been an avid cross-stitcher since the late 1980’s.
In November 2003 Tracy decided to produce a number of handmade buttons for a craft sale at a local cross-stitchers’ retreat: all of them sold out in the first five minutes. Shortly after, Fiddlestitch Cottage was born.
Tracy soon expanded the variety and complexity of the designs so that there are currently over 50 different buttons in the Fiddlestitch Cottage line. All of them are made individually by her hand, and most of them are hand-cut and hand-shaped, so that no two are exactly alike.
Tracy added cross-stitch patterns to the product line in 2004, and at present there are a dozen designs available with several others in preparation. Many of the patterns are sold with Fiddlestitch Cottage handmade buttons included.
Dedicated cross-stitchers will appreciate Tracy’s frequent use of novel and interesting specialty stitches, her charming buttons, and the way her designs evoke a sense of nature, celebrations and the passage of the seasons. Tracy also composes all of the verses used in her cross-stitch designs, such as the "Ode to a Fiddlehead" and "Wishful Stitching".
